III - Feed Technical Issues/Troubleshooting
The system is actually very easy to use. In massive testing we have found the times when people are not able to get access always stem from just a few things:
A) When logging into the members area, your members must go through the "traditional front door" and not through any bookmarks they might have added to their browser or through any links from emails they received from you or your third party billing solution (i.e.: CCBill, IBill, etc). Members have to go to www.yoursitename.com and from there click on the link that says "members entrance" -- this allows your subscribers' username and password to be correctly identified by our server as being allowed access to the features in the members area.
B) Pop-up blocker software and firewalls will interrupt the referrer identification process. Members should disable these programs while using the system. If a member is still having a problem, they might try changing their security settings in IE6 by choosing "Tools" | "Internet Options" | "Security" | Custom Level" and setting them to "Low". If something is blocking the subscribers' referrer information from being seen by our server or if their browser has it's security settings on "High" this would be the cause of an "access denied" error. If your customer is using Windows XP they may have the default XP Firewall enabled on their connection and it may be blocking the referrer as part of it's privacy settings.
C) Members will need a copy of Real Player, this is available in many places in the service and is a free download.
